Overview
Attestify is a startup I founded. The problem is old: credential fraud, slow verification, and universities answering the same verification requests over and over. The approach is Soulbound Tokens, non-transferable tokens bound to a holder, so a credential can be verified in seconds and cannot be sold or forged.
What I built
- 01Soulbound Token contracts with issue and revoke flows controlled by the issuing institution.
- 02Issuer dashboard for universities and a public verifier that checks a credential without an account.
- 03Product and go-to-market plan: integration with university student information systems, with government institutions as target anchor clients.
What was hard
Problem
Non-transferable by design, but people lose wallets.
Approach
Issuer-controlled reissue and revoke, so a lost wallet is recoverable through the institution rather than through a transfer.
Problem
Adoption depends on institutions, not on token holders.
Approach
Focused the product on the issuer workflow first and treated the chain as an implementation detail for verifiers.
