Freelance senior full-stack engineer. AI products, payment systems and Web3 platforms, built end to end.

I’m Muzammil Ahmad, an independent senior engineer working with founders and teams in Europe and the US. React, Next.js and Node on the product side. LLM features, RAG and agents on the AI side. Payment rails, tokenization and KYC on the Web3 side. One person, the whole stack, shipped to production.

Available for scoped builds, retainers and senior contract roles. Current work: AI and full-stack builds for clients, and CashTap, a USDC payment product.

Prefer to talk to someone I have worked with? Ask for a reference call.

  • These kinds of developers are very, very difficult to find. And when I do find them, I hold on to them.

  • The patience and clarity and open communication, every single time I wanted something changing or building or putting right, is honestly fantastic.

Capabilities

One engineer across the whole path.

From the model call or the contract to the checkout button. Five areas I work in, and below them, the payment and identity providers I have integrated or evaluated.

01

AI product engineering

Retrieval over your documents with answers that cite their sources, agents that call your APIs behind permission checks, and the eval set, cost tracking and UI that keep it reliable. Inside an existing product or as a new AI SaaS.

  • RAG: embeddings, pgvector, Pinecone
  • Agents and tool calling
  • LLM APIs: OpenAI, Anthropic, open models
  • Evals, guardrails, cost control
  • Streaming chat and search UIs
  • AI SaaS: auth, billing, multi-tenant

02

Full-stack product engineering

The application itself: dashboards, onboarding, admin tools, APIs and background jobs. React and Next.js on the front end, Node.js with Postgres or MongoDB behind it, TypeScript throughout.

  • React, Next.js, TypeScript
  • Node.js, Express
  • Postgres, Supabase, MongoDB
  • Auth, sessions, webhooks
  • Data-heavy dashboards
  • Stripe billing

03

Crypto payments and on-ramps

Invoicing, payment links, settlement in stablecoins, and the fiat rails around them. Payments modeled as a state machine with idempotent webhooks and on-chain reconciliation. Shipped in production.

  • USDC on Base
  • Lightning Network
  • Per-invoice wallets
  • Fiat on/off ramps
  • Gasless transactions
  • Webhook reconciliation

04

Smart contracts and tokenization

Solidity contracts written and tested with Foundry. Real world asset tokenization, NFT mechanics, staking, governance and soulbound credentials.

  • Solidity, Foundry
  • ERC-721, ERC-20, ERC-1155
  • RWA tokenization
  • Staking and DAO governance
  • Soulbound Tokens
  • ERC-4337 account abstraction

05

Compliance, infrastructure, delivery

KYC and AML flows inside regulated products, deployment and monitoring, and the documentation a team needs to run what I hand over.

  • KYC: Stripe Identity, BankID
  • AWS: EC2, Amplify, DynamoDB, S3
  • VPS: Contabo, Hetzner
  • Sentry monitoring
  • Netlify, Vercel
  • API docs and Postman

About

Full stack, with depth in the two hard parts.

I’m an independent senior full-stack engineer based in Islamabad. I work with founders and product teams in Europe and the US, directly and through Upwork, on scoped builds, retainers and senior contract roles.

Most product work is React, Next.js, Node and a database, and I do a lot of that. The layer I focus on is the harder one on top: AI features that have to be reliable (answers that cite their sources, agents limited to what they are allowed to do, evals built from real user questions), and money that has to move correctly (crypto payment rails, tokenization, KYC). I don’t just write the model call or the smart contract and I don’t just write the front end. I ship the whole product and stay until it runs in production.

I studied computer science at Lahore Garrison University and graduated as a Silver Medalist, top of a class of 350+. I was already freelancing while studying. My final year project was a dApp I later sold to a client.

Clients usually come looking for one of three things: a freelance full-stack developer, an AI developer for RAG and agents, or a Web3 developer for payments and tokenization. Here that is one person.

How I work

I own the outcome, not a layer

Model calls, contracts, API, front end, payments and compliance. When one engineer owns the whole path, the seams do not leak.

Production first

Tests, monitoring with Sentry, idempotent webhooks, evals for anything with an LLM in it. The boring parts are what keep a product alive.

Async by default

Clear written updates, decisions recorded, demos on a URL. Clients in Europe and the US work with me without watching the clock.

Direct

If a plan is wrong I say so early and say why. You get an engineer, not an order taker.

Book a call

Tell me what you’re building.

Thirty minutes. You describe the problem, I ask questions, and you leave with a clear next step, whether or not that step is me. If it is, you get a written scope and price within a few days.

Working together

Three ways to engage. One way of working.

Pick the shape that fits your situation. Scope and price come in writing after the intro call, before anything starts.

01

Scoped build

You have a defined feature, integration or MVP. I write the scope, quote a fixed price, and ship in weekly increments, usually with a demo each week.

Good for: an AI feature or RAG pipeline, a payment integration, a token contract and dashboard, an MVP with a deadline.

02

Monthly retainer

A set number of days per month for ongoing product work. You get a senior engineer who knows the codebase without hiring full time.

Good for: products in market that need steady, senior hands, and agency overflow or white-label delivery.

03

Senior contract role

Embedded in your team as a senior or lead engineer, part-time or full-time, remote, with hours that overlap Europe.

Good for: teams building AI, payments or Web3 products who need depth on the full stack.

Process

  1. 01

    Intro call

30 minutes. We go through the problem, the constraints and the timeline, and decide if it is a fit.

  2. 02

    Written scope

A short document with what gets built, what does not, the stack, the timeline and the price.

  3. 03

    Weekly demos

Working software on a staging URL every week. You see progress, not status reports.

  4. 04

    Handover

Deployed, monitored, documented. Tests, environment notes and a walkthrough for your team.

Questions clients ask

The practical details.

Anything not covered here is a good topic for the intro call. Book a 30-minute call.

Directly. The contract and invoices are with me. If your team prefers a platform for escrow and paperwork, Upwork works as well.
