Overview
Astar Degens is an NFT community with a DAO. The platform gives holders something to do with their NFTs beyond holding them: stake them in the Daycare Center to earn rewards, trade them in a marketplace, and vote on proposals.
The work covered contracts, front end and the data layer, across two networks.
What I built
- 01Multi-NFT staking contracts with reward accrual and claim flows.
- 02NFT marketplace with listings, offers and settlement.
- 03DAO governance: proposal creation, voting and execution.
- 04Reward distribution across the Astar and Soneium networks.
- 05Next.js application with Thirdweb for wallet and contract interaction, Supabase for off-chain data and indexing.
- 06Contracts went through an audit before mainnet deployment.
What was hard
Problem
Same product, two networks, and users who switch between them.
Approach
Chain-agnostic contract interfaces and a front end that handles network switching through Thirdweb without duplicating logic.
Problem
Reward fairness when people stake and unstake around snapshots.
Approach
Time-weighted accrual instead of snapshot counting, so gaming the timing does not pay.
Problem
Gas cost of staking many NFTs at once.
Approach
Compact on-chain state for staking positions and batched operations to reduce per-NFT overhead.
